Winstone Zulu
Winstone Zulu is a leading advocate for those affected by the TB and HIV/AIDS epidemics. A survivor of child polio and TB, he made his HIV status public in the early 1990s. He went on to co-found an HIV/AIDS counseling service at a time when such services were rare. In 1994, he attended the Paris World AIDS conference and has been active internationally ever since. He is now the South African Representative of TB Alert.
WDr LS Chauhan
Dr LS Chauhan is Deputy Director General - Tuberculosis for India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As programme manager of the Revised National TB Control Programme, he has overseen the expansion of DOTS care so that it now reaches 1.1 billion people in India, or 100% of the population. His accomplishment is remarkable, not only for the lives saved in India itself, but also for the trail it blazes for other countries.
